The subsidiaries of
Air New Zealand
By RigJig
By RigJig
Even though Air New Zealand doesn't have any subsidiaries in real life, here are four of ours:
Sounds Air
Sounds Air
Sounds Air is a very small airline operating locally in New Zealand. In Aeronautica, it's a very small airline that helps new pilots get an early feel for an airline, and is a gateway program into Air New Zealand.
The Fleet:
The Pilatus PC12
This small and humble aircraft is popular among small airlines such as Sounds Air. The PC12 is a single-engine turboprop aircraft operated by Sounds Air in real life also.

Cessna 208C Grand Caravan
Cessna is known for their smaller aircraft, and this plane is among them. Not exactly a looker but it's got good capacity.

Learn about the payment system here
Pilots are paid for the distance that they have flown. The maximum that they can be paid each week is 400 nautical miles worth. The organised date for paychecks is Saturday of every week, but pilots can arrange to be paid earlier. Being paid earlier does not let you escape the pay cap, which resets every Saturday and after the paycheck. For each set milestone that a pilot reaches, they will rank up and receive more WP per nautical mile logged. The listed pay is the amount you receive for every hundred nautical miles. The following list contains the available ranks and their specifications. New recruits receive the cadet rank and logged minutes contribute to higher ranks as shown below.
- Cadet - 6,000WP per 100nm - 0min
- First Officer - 10,000WP per 100nm - 30min
- Captain - 14,000WP per 100nm - 60min
How do you log a flight?
It can be tedious, but it's satisfying when you get it right.
When you are introduced to the airline, a flight log will be made for you. Within this flight log, you will write down the details of your flight in the format of the template in the guide channel.
How do the ranks work?
When you log flights, I keep track of your total flight time in a database. When you hit 30 minutes of logged flight, you instantly get promoted, and you'll be paid the corresponding amount in the next week.
What happens when the maximum rank is reached?
Once over 60 minutes have been logged, you will be encouraged to get your multi-engine license and an invite to Air New Zealand will be sent. Due to your prior experience, the captain rank will grant you second officer in Air New Zealand.
Joining the airline is fairly simple
To join the airline, simply join the Discord Server!
Once you're in the Discord server I, the CEO, will make contact with you as soon as I notice you've joined. As for the in-game airline, we'll coordiante a time for me to invite you. Until the Aeronautica airlines part two update, you will be invited into the Air New Zealand airline as opposed to Sounds Air as a subsidiary.
Black Cat Cruises
Black Cat Cruises
Black Cat Cruises is a small company in the Canterbury region of New Zealand, operating boats and ferries primarily for sightseeing. In Aeronautica, they are a subsidiary of Air New Zealand. This is so that our pilots can have some diveristy in what type of vehicles they can operate, ranging from seaplanes to boats themselves. To get involved with these trips, just log a flight with a vehicle from the fleet. Make sure it has airline colours and a provided livery apllied to it. For any questions, DM the CEO.

Ansett
Welcome to Ansett
Ansett in real life, flopped around September 2001 and has since been disbanded with all of its aircraft sold or redelivered. Ansett Aeronautica however, has a complicated history. The first Ansett was created about a year ago, but didn't gather much steam. The creator eventually gave the Discord server to Middy_37 for an airshow, and Ansett merged with Qantas as a subsidiary. When Dawg effectively kicked me from ownership of Air New Zealand, I turned to Ansett because they were a large airline that used to operate in New Zealand, but primarily Australia. I contacted the previous owner (Downunder) and we restarted Ansett. I was the CEO of Ansett New Zealand, while he was the CEO of Ansett Australia. After about a month of slow but steady growth, Down just left without saying anything. About a few months later he rejoined and was slow to explain why he left. It boils down to "I lost interest, but I'm back to see what's changed" so I gave him his role back as CEO, and he changed the name of the server from 'Ansett Aeronautica' to 'Ansett Aeronautica | Road to 50'. The next day, he vanished again with no explanation why. Since then he has rejoined but then immediately left a couple times. Since then, nothing has really happened and I have been keeping Ansett quiet. However, Ansett has a new manager by the name of Avhocki who is now in charge of running Ansett.

Westpac
Westpac
We've started a bank based on the real bank called Westpac. This project isn't going to be complete for a while because there isn't very much demand for it right now.
